The latest in kitchen and bath trends will be on display at next week’s International Builders Show in Las Vegas, a major annual event in the country. Some of the items displayed at the show could be coming to your homes soon, too.
Just in time for the show, the National Kitchen & Bath Association has identified trends in those rooms for 2010 and consider going ahead and putting this into plans to update your kitchens and baths this year.
We’ll look at kitchen trends this week; check back next week for bath trends.

National Kitchen and Bath Association
1. Kitchen color: Whites, off-whites, brown, beige and bone hues.
2. Architecture styles: Traditional is the most popular, followed by contemporary and the Shaker style.
3. Cabinets: Cherry will continue to be the most popular, followed by maple and alder. Falling out of popularity are painted cabinets, light natural finishes and distressed finishes.
4. Floors: Hardwoods, ceramic and porcelain tile and natural stone tile.
5. Countertops: Granite, but quartz is catching up in popularity.
6. Faucets: Pull out faucets and pot filler faucets. The most popular finish is brushed nickel, then stainless steel, satin nickel and polished chrome.
